Eating leftovers is a small contribution to solving environmental problems, but still a contribution. Many of our small habits probably amounts to much in the statistics.

Sometimes the leftovers even taste better than the original dish, especially if you give them a little extra treatment the next day. Waffles are still a standard partner to afternoon coffee in many Norwegian homes, typically eaten with sour cream and strawberry jam, or butter, sugar or our famously sweet and sticky whey cheese. Some brave people I’ve heard about eat waffles with plain white cheese, and make themselves victims of sarcastic comments.

Anyway, yesterday’s supplies of waffles may be put in the oven with a tiny lump of butter and some vanilla sugar on each heart, or even toasted! Adjust the toaster to almost the lowest heat and put the good stuff on afterwards.
